The Miraculous Medal owes its origin to the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary to St. Catherine Labouré, in the Chapel at rue du Bac, Paris in 1830. Our Lady showed her an image of the medal designed to remind people of the love and protection she continually offers to God's children.
